Congratulation on Handi producing 2 Zone Thermal shock Test Chamber more than 10 sets in 20

Thermal Shock Test Chamber is used to test the capability of material structure or composite materials to withstand the continuous environmental changes between extremely high temperature and low temperature during a short time, and therefore understand the chemical changes or physical damages caused by expansion from heat and contraction from cold in the shortest possible time.

 

It is applicable to metals, plastic, rubber, auto parts, chemical materials, electronics and other materials. The test results can be used as a reference or basis for product improvement.

 

Handi has strong design and workmanship on producing thermal shock test chamber. As high requirements for this kind of chamber in market, Handi produced more than 10 sets only within 2011. The specification for this kind of 2 zone thermal shock test chamber as below:

 

Thermal shock test chamber. - - Two-Zone is designed to provide two opposite extreme temperature environments for temperature cycling and thermal shock testing of electronic components and assemblies to military specifications.

 

Thermal shock testing is achieved by quickly and repeatedly transferring a specimen between a hot chamber and a cold chamber by means of an automatic carriage transport system. The hot chamber is on the left side and the cold chamber is on the right. The cold chamber can be used as a full range test chamber. Programmable touch screen Controller is used to control the conditioning process.

A single plug-in power source requirement at standard operating voltages of 220 - 240 volts, and fused at 30 amps allows full portable capability.

 

Temperature Specifications:

Hot Chamber: The hot chamber is used for heating only. It is located on the left side of the unit.

Temperature Range: + 60° to + 200, ± 2.0°

Cold Chamber: The cold chamber is used primarily for cooling, but also incorporates heating capabilities.

Temperature Range: - 50° to + 150, ± 2.0°

Performance evaluation was made with a distributed product load of 16 pin dip devices at a low temperature of - 55° C and a high temperature of + 150° C. Sensors embedded in load samples achieved a 15 minute product temperature recovery per MIL-STD-883C, and an air temperature recovery of 5 minutes per MILSTD-202F. Performance data is based ambient temperature 25° C and without specimen loaded.

 

 

Carriage Transport System Control:

A motor driven lead screw mechanism installed at the base of the unit is used to transfer the product basket carriage from one chamber to the other. The motor is provided with an electric brake to insure that a positive stop is achieved. Limit switches are installed to stop the transfer process when the proper positions are reached. An Event output from Controller is used for positioning control.

Environmental Conditioning Functions:

Heating of both the hot and cold chambers is achieved by recirculating chamber air through electric open-air nichrome wire heater elements in the conditioning plenum. The elements are supported by ceramic insulators. Conditioning plenums are located above the chamber workspace.

Cooling of the cold chamber is achieved by recirculating chamber air through a refrigerated cooling coil in the conditioning plenum.

Air circulation in each chamber is generated by a propeller type fan mounted in the conditioning plenum. Conditioner fans are driven by externally mounted motors.
